If it were my home

I got this idea off another blogger and thought it was a cool to see comparisons of other countries if you were to live in them. So, since we call Austria our "home" now instead of the United States we...

1) Consume 52.57% less oil
Austria consumes 1.2522 gallons of oil per day per capita while The United States consumes 2.6400

2) Have 49.46% chance of being employed
Austria has an unemployment rate of 4.70% while The United States has 9.30%

3) Spend 46.3% less on healthcare
Per capita public and private health expenditures combined in Austria are $3,608 USD while The United States spends $6,719 USD

4) Use 33.33% less electricity
The per capita consumption of electricity in Austria is 8,323kWh while in The United States it is 12,484kWh

5) Have 17.47% more free time
Employed persons in Austria work an average of 1483 hours each year while persons in The United States work an average of 1797 hours

And the drawback?

The average Austrian makes 15.09% LESS than an average American. The GDP per capita in Austria is $39,400 while in The United States it is $46,400
